WHERE NO PODCAST HAS GONE BEFORE . . .

After a crazy spring of COVID-related announcements and advertising, Baker Sound has been busy with a variety of interesting projects.

Baker has been involved with many podcasts over the years, but we're particularly excited about The Pod Spotter. Created by Price Brothers and produced by Oink Ink, the new show is dedicated to finding the best of the podcasting universe. The weekly program, hosted by actor Zack Robidas (of HBO’s Succession) and edited by Baker’s Jeff King, features interviews with the people behind the most interesting, entertaining, and unique podcasts available today. Check it out here. Baker is also handling weekly recordings for No Stupid Questions, a podcast that features Freakonomics Radio host Stephen Dubner and research psychologist Angela Duckworth discussing a variety of intriguing topics. And on the local front, Baker delivered new episodes of the Jefferson Health Nexus Podcast, which covers a wide range of health-related issues.

In ad news, Oink Ink continues to produce national radio spots for Staples, as well as new work for Mercari and American National Insurance. LevLane was back with a fun new radio and TV campaign for United Concordia Dental, featuring sound design and mix-to-pic by Baker President Rick DiDonato. AB&C has been busy with new radio for CarSense, as well as radio and TV for Phoenix Children’s Hospital and a PSA for the Delaware Division of Public Health. Meanwhile, Karma delivered new work for Main Line Health and PSECU credit union, Truth & Consequences tackled an Eagles-themed campaign for Firstrust Bank, and OneMagnify hit the jackpot with new spots for the Delaware Lottery. And Baker has produced its usual bevy of political ads for candidates and PACs across the country.

Baker’s MONSTER TRACKS music division has been deep into politics as well, scoring ads for candidates in California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Kansas. Composer Chuck Butler also worked with LevLane Creative Director Martin Bihl to create a 50s-inspired orchestral score for the aforementioned United Concordia Dental spots, produced a “rap friendly” radio arrangement of the Mercari theme for Oink Ink, and delivered new podcast themes for Incyte (biopharmaceutical company) and the William Penn Foundation.

In other news, Baker welcomed newcomer Taryn Brown for an ADR session in her role as ten-year old Billie Holiday in Lee Daniels’ upcoming film The United States Vs. Billie Holiday, and teen celeb Madison Reyes stopped by to record for her starring role in the new Netflix musical-dramedy Julie and the Phantoms. Baker has also recorded several new audiobooks, including The College Conversation read by co-author Eric J. Furda, The New Corner Office read by author Laura Vanderkam, and Every Body Looking read by author Candice Iloh. Finally, Baker was proud to record an audio tour for the new exhibit When Women Lost the Vote: A Revolutionary Story, 1776-1807, which debuted on October 2nd at the Museum of the American Revolution.

Baker Sound wishes everyone a safe and healthy fall!
