| SEEING STARS AT BAKER SOUND
For Immediate Release August 27, 2001 Baker Sound Studios continues to play host to notable celebrities, welcoming well-known "Walker, Texas Ranger" guest star Tex Cobb, as well as Grammy winning recording artist Patti Labelle in recent sessions. Patti Labelle returned to Baker this past month to record her new book "Patti's Pearls: Lessons in Living Genuinely, Joyfully, Generously" for an upcoming Time Warner audio book release. Producer John McElroy of The Gashouse Production Company worked with Ms. Labelle for several sessions in Baker's Studio B. "Patti's Pearls" is Ms. Labelle's third book. Baker Sound had previously worked with Ms. Labelle during production of her album "When A Woman Loves", available on MCA records. Baker also worked with actor Randall "Tex" Cobb, recording dialog replacement (ADR) for a recent episode of "Walker, Texas Ranger" on CBS. Cobb, who has appeared in such notable films as "Raising Arizona" and "Liar Liar", was asked to replace several lines which were unusable do to environmental conditions at the shooting location. Baker senior staff engineer Rick DiDonato handled the session, syncing ProTools and timecode DAT to video tape while producers from Columbia/TriStar listened via telephone. "Tex is a pro, so the session was smooth", recalls DiDonato. "We've handled quite a bit of this kind of work, so we've got a pretty solid system in place to handle the demands of ADR producers." |
