BAKER WINS AWARDS AND

WELCOMES AWARD WINNERS

Baker Sound was pleased that two spots we worked on for B101 received Gold and Silver ADDY Awards at the Philadelphia Ad Club’s March 11th awards ceremony. Production for both spots, including “Woodpecker,” the Gold award-winning spot in the Radio Self-Promotion category, was coordinated by Alan Tempest. Baker President Rick DiDonato engineered and handled sound design for both spots. Congratulations to B101 and the entire production team!

In other news, Grammy Award-winning recording artist and actress Jill Scott was in Studio A recently to rerecord some dialog for her guest appearance on NBC’s Law & Order: SVU. The episode, titled “Disabled,” aired on March 24th. Also, Oscar nominee and NAACP Image Award winner Terrence Howard was back with us to do some voice work for AT&T. Synthpop/electronica phenom Adam Young of the chart-topping group Owl City rocked the joint during a radio interview with BBC London. And Barry Scott brought the intensity as he voiced promos for TNA Wrestling’s Before The Bell: Against All Odds.

In advertising news, Allebach Advertising produced spots for Univest Bank featuring a new jingle by MONSTER TRACKS. “Believe in the Power of Local” was composed by Chuck Butler and sung by local recoding artist Jim Boggia. Allebach also produced three new spots for Hatfield Simply Tender Portions. Each spot begins with a husband, wife, or child singing about their desire for more exciting dinner choices to the tune of Rossini’s “William Tell Overture.” MONSTER TRACKS created the fully-orchestrated score that backs the spots.

In other advertising news, Masterminds Advertising produced new spots for The Meadows Casino near Pittsburgh and Beau Rivage Hotel and Casino in Biloxi, Missouri. Jerry Robbins dazzled us as he recorded new spots for Robbins Diamonds. Magarick & Associates tapped MONSTER TRACKS to create a new jingle for Window Wizards. In separate projects, ING and Metro Bank recorded voices for the kid-oriented areas of their websites. Baker also worked on new advertising for a number of local healthcare providers: Caspari McCormick produced spots for Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals featuring original music by MONSTER TRACKS. Out of the Blue was in to produce radio ads for Temple University Hospital and OOTB’s Ron Cohen and Vikki Smith worked with composer Chuck Butler to score a new TV spot for Fox Chase Cancer Center. The Marathon Group recorded several spots for the Saint Barnabas Health Care System. And Signature Communications delivered spots for Crozer Hospital, while Holton Sentivan + Gury crafted some new work for Paoli Hospital.

In politics, Baker is already in high gear, handling multiple gubernatorial and other upcoming primary races. Our MONSTER TRACKS music division has been hard at work as well, scoring several campaigns that are airing heavily now. The 2010 political year is shaping up to be one of the busiest ever.

Finally, in the world of audio books, engineer Jeff King has recorded a number of new titles, including Weight of Shadows by Alison Strobel, Blood Ransom by Lisa Harris, and the first two books in Deborah Vogts’ Seasons of the Tallgrass series, Snow Melts in Spring and Seeds of Summer.

Have a great summer! Go Phils!
